Disclaimer
Last updated: 18 August 2026
In short: we check that artist, guru, vendor, and announcement submissions follow our rules before publication. We do not independently confirm that a stage debut occurred, authenticate certificates, verify a lineage or teaching claim, or certify a vendor’s credentials, quality, or suitability. The person or business submitting information is responsible for it being true.
1. What Arangetram Registry is
Arangetram Registry is operated by Ethos Agora LLC. It is a registry and directory where artists across Indian classical dance, vocal, and instrumental traditions can document their training and stage milestones; gurus can describe their teaching tradition; and businesses can list services relevant to families preparing for classical stage-debut events.
The platform name comes from the term arangetram, but artists and families may use other terms appropriate to their own traditions, including rangapravesham, rangapravesha, rangmanch pravesh, arangettam, and related terminology.
We are a publisher of user-submitted directory listings. We are not an examining body, accrediting institution, talent agency, employer, background-check provider, vendor-certification service, or a party to arrangements made between people or businesses who find each other here.
2. What we do check
Before a submission is published, a member of our team reviews it. Depending on the type of submission, we check that:
- the content follows our Community Guidelines;
- it contains nothing unlawful, abusive, or unsuitable for a platform used by young people;
- an artist certificate has been supplied where required and appears to relate to the milestone described;
- contact details are not hidden inside free-text fields to route people around our moderated contact system;
- vendor portfolio photographs meet the platform rule that they show the vendor’s work rather than identifiable people, and that the required rights attestation has been made.
We also read messages sent through the platform before deciding whether to pass them on.
3. What we do not check
Our review is a policy check. It is not authentication. Specifically, we do not:
- independently confirm that an arangetram, rangapravesham, rangapravesha, rangmanch pravesh, arangettam, or another described milestone took place, or when or where it occurred;
- authenticate certificates with the issuing school, sabha, academy, guru, or other institution;
- verify that a guru taught a particular student, that a lineage is as described, or that a teaching background is complete;
- assess anyone’s artistic skill, training, readiness, or suitability to teach or perform;
- verify a vendor’s licences, insurance, professional qualifications, pricing, availability, quality, reliability, or suitability for a particular event;
- run background checks on artists, gurus, vendors, or people who send messages;
- confirm identity documents, ages, or qualifications.
A published profile or vendor listing is not an endorsement, certification, recommendation, or statement by us that its contents are true. It means the submission passed our policy review, nothing more.
4. Where a certificate-review mark appears
Where an artist profile shows that a certificate has been reviewed, this means a member of our team looked at the document supplied and found nothing inconsistent with the profile. It does not mean we contacted the issuer or confirmed that the document is authentic. Documents can be forged, and we would not necessarily detect a good forgery.
5. Your responsibility for what you submit
If you create an artist, guru, or vendor listing, or submit an announcement, you are responsible for the information and media you provide. By submitting, you confirm that:
- the information is true and not misleading;
- you have the right to use every photograph, video, and document you upload;
- where an identifiable person is permitted to appear, that person has agreed, and where the person is a minor the required parent or guardian agreement has been obtained;
- vendor portfolio images comply with the platform’s no-identifiable-person rule and the vendor holds the rights claimed;
- artists have permission to name their guru and describe their lineage as submitted;
- you will correct information that becomes inaccurate.
Where an artist profile belongs to someone under 18, their parent or guardian shares this responsibility. A vendor business is responsible for its listing, portfolio, and representations.
6. Decide for yourself
If you are choosing a teacher, engaging a performer, selecting a vendor, purchasing goods or services, or making any decision based on what you read here, satisfy yourself independently. Ask appropriate questions, seek references where appropriate, review contracts and pricing yourself, and make your own assessment.
This matters particularly where a child is involved. We moderate contact and protect the personal details of young artists, but we cannot vouch for anyone, and nothing here should be treated as a safety assurance about a person or business.
7. Arrangements between users and vendors
Anything agreed between people or businesses who meet through this platform — lessons, performances, fees, travel, collaborations, event services, purchases, deliveries, deposits, cancellations, or other arrangements — is between them. We are not a party to the arrangement, we take no commission, and we have no role in resolving the transaction or dispute.
8. Availability
We provide the platform as it is. We do not promise that it will be available without interruption, free of errors, or that information on it is current. We may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of it.
9. Links elsewhere
Artist, guru, and vendor listings may link to websites and social media accounts we do not control. A link is not a recommendation, and content on a linked site may change after we have reviewed it. Follow links at your own discretion.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Ethos Agora LLC is not liable for loss or damage arising from:
- reliance on information published by a user or vendor;
- any dealing, purchase, engagement, arrangement, or dispute between users or vendors;
- the conduct of any artist, guru, vendor, sender, or other person;
- interruption or unavailability of the platform.
Nothing in this disclaimer limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
